This former military site was lavishly cleaned up, landscaped and planted over in the 1990s. Since then, the park has been showing its green side to the city residents below, with meadows, grassy slopes and even a flowerbed planted with the Erfurt coat of arms. There is also a small vineyard on the hillside leading up to Petersberg, which stands as a symbol for the region's centuries-old winegrowing tradition.
The parkland around Petersberg Citadel is a 10-minute walk uphill from Domplatz square below. Alternatively, visitors can take a tram (no. 3, 4 or 6).
Parking: Domplatz multi-storey car park.
