Notes on Guided Walks and Organised Tours
The tour guides we arrange for you have been specially trained to give visitors from all over the world an insight into our city’s historical development. They also provide information about cultural events on offer in Erfurt and events of topical interest. Please note that most of Erfurt’s major sights are in the old quarter, a pedestrianised zone that is closed to all vehicles except trams. For this reason, coach tours of the city are not possible. If you wish to go on a tour of Erfurt, we can arrange tours by tram, or in individual cases by minibus, for you, subject to availability and by arrangement. To enable us to organise your tour to include what you would particularly like to see, please supply details of the language you require and any special interests (e.g. art, architecture etc.). Unless otherwise indicated, our guided tours do not include any internal viewing. However, this can be arranged on request, for example, a guided tour of the cathedral, the Church of St. Severus or the Augustinian Monastery. Admission fees for these are payable in addition to the tour price.
If you are arriving by coach, we can tell you where best to park. We can also arrange for your parking place to be the meeting point for your guided tour.
Admission prices quoted for individual places of interest cannot be guaranteed and we cannot accept any responsibility for their accuracy.
