Municipal Museum "Haus zum Stockfisch"

One of the most magnificent late Renaissance houses invites visitors to explore the city from its early history to the present day, with a particularly impressive depiction of the medieval metropolis of Erfurt. There are also references to the many authentic historical sites in the old town. Varied special exhibitions, multimedia offerings such as the film "Stone Chronicle" and a museum cinema always offer new reasons to visit.

The permanent exhibition on the first floor presents the Reformation period and the importance of Erfurt as Luther's intellectual center with the oldest university in Germany.
