Kyffhäuser Monument
Kyffhäuser Monument
The Kaiser Wilhelm National Monument has been built on the ruins of Kyffhausen royal castle, and is located in the smallest hills of Central German Uplands. The monument displays a carved figure of Barbarossa, above which is an eleven metre high equestrian sculpture of Kaiser Wilhelm I. The legend of Barbarossa, one of the most popular legends in Germany, originated here.
