Luther’s cell
Built around 1300, the Protestant Augustinian monastery is one of the most significant stops on Martin Luther’s life journey. On 17 July 1505, he entered the monastery and became an Augustinian monk. Just two years later, he was ordained a deacon. The Luther Cell, where Luther lived during his time in the order, is also open to visitors.
