Through Erfurt in Bach’s footsteps
Erfurt has many connections with the music of the baroque period. Johann Sebastian Bach’s parents were married in the Merchants’ Church. Johann Sebastian Bach himself often came to Erfurt to visit relatives. The "Bach family days" were welcome opportunities for the family to meet up at Erfurt, Eisenach or Arnstadt. The Thuringian Bach Festival, which takes place every March and April, has become a well-established tradition. The highlight of this tour is a short organ recital in the Prediger Church.
